Tile Giant Ad Campaigns

Here’s a selection of my motion / video work during my time at Tile Giant.

Senses Seventh Heaven Animations

In pairing with the album cover I created for Senses’ album “Seventh Heaven”, I also created five animations for their Spotify. Spotify allows short looped videos to be attached to songs, that appear on mobile devices fullscreen as the user selects the relevant track.

I wanted to work with Senses by creating a sort of story that interconnects the songs in the album - by choosing five songs spaced out through the album, I created animations that reflect the narrative of the lyrics, and also define a story with a suitable arc.

Supercharged, Opening Track Animation

Supercharged

The first animation of the set displays Senses’ character appearing from above, as from heaven, descending down from the air. This reflects the beginning of the album and too the beginning of the story.

The colour choices were made the same to the album cover, to keep the style consistent through each of the mediums of art.

Seventh Heaven

In this animation, it depicts Senses fleeing from a demon, as to reflect the lyric “running from the devil” in the track. Clearly battle-damaged, I wanted to emulate the sense of angst that the song brings to the audience in the state of the character.

Want me gone, track 5 Animation

Want Me Gone

Want Me Gone is a song that is full of emotion in the delivery and lyricism of Senses, therefore I needed to get this across in the visual language of the scene. In the narrative, after escaping the devil (which symbolises Senses' inner demons) Senses becomes overwhelmed with emotion and hides from the world - represented by the flashing city behind them.

To keep the story and animation timeline consistent, the battle damage seen in the Seventh Heaven animation is still present in this animation.

Killmode pt. 2

A very driving track required an animation to reflect the almost aggressive beats in Killmode pt. 2. This animation shows Senses fighting the demon or more symbolically "inner” demon, in a final showdown as the album draws near its end. The red colours that denote the devil are juxtapose the blue representing Senses, to get across this idea of duality and antagonism.

Guardian Angel, Final Track Animation

Guardian Angel

Acting as the catharsis to the story, this animations displays Senses finally at peace with themself overlooking a distant view. This peace is represented by nature, and of course in the appearance of the guardian angel itself that fades into view in the blue sky. This is the closing animation to the album and set of animations I created for Senses.

How it appears on spotify

The animations can be viewed by going onto the relevant tracks whilst on the Spotify mobile app.
